free tax reality check

Recompute a Hyperliquid record, fill by fill.

Sums of venue-reported per-fill values — realized PnL, every funding event, fees net of rebates — reconciled against the venue's own sampled curve. The residual is printed, not hidden. Free while in testing; full corrected reports land at the 2027 filing season.

what's actually different

verified, not displayed

Other tools re-print venue numbers. We recompute every fill, then close an independent identity: Δ account value − every flow crossing the perp boundary ≈ the venue's PnL. On a wallet churning $300M+ in a month, the two agree within $1 — that's a proof, not a marketing claim.

full history, not the last 30 hours

The venue's fill API only retains about 30 hours — a "30-day" recomputation built on it silently misses most of the window. Our fills come from an independent chain indexer: every fill since the account's first trade, for any window, verified cell-identical against the venue where both serve data.

semantics that silently corrupt other parsers

Fees are signed (a positive fee is a rebate, not a cost). Funding changes cash. Transfers between your own pools and third parties differ by who sent to whom. Builder-dex fills belong to the perp universe. Each of these was verified on live data; each one moves totals by millions when mishandled.

we show when the venue contradicts itself

On builder-dex accounts the venue's own PnL series excludes unrealized dex PnL while its account-value series includes it — divergences of millions on real wallets. We report the measured disagreement instead of smoothing it over.

what this is not
  • — Not tax advice. This is arithmetic on public API data; filing decisions stay with you and your preparer.
  • — One address, one venue. Other wallets, CEX accounts and pre-transfer basis are not visible from here.
  • — The official curve is sampled, not per-trade. Sample counts are shown, never called "days".

questions filers actually ask

Does Hyperliquid issue tax forms?

No. Hyperliquid is a non-custodial, non-KYC exchange — it issues no 1099-DA, no 1099-B, and reports nothing to any tax authority. Every taxable event is still yours to report; the venue just never sends you the paperwork. That is exactly the gap this check exists to close.

How do I get my full Hyperliquid trade history?

The venue's own fill API only retains about the last 30 hours, so anything built on it silently truncates. This check pulls fills from an independent chain indexer covering your account's entire history — verified cell-identical against the venue wherever both serve data — plus full funding events and the complete ledger.

Are Hyperliquid funding payments taxable?

There is no direct IRS (or equivalent) guidance on perp funding yet. The conservative reading treats funding received as ordinary income and funding paid as a deductible expense; some filers net funding into position PnL instead. This report surfaces the funding stream separately — paid vs received, per market — so you and your preparer decide the classification on real numbers, not estimates. We don't decide tax treatment; we make sure the figures you hand over are correct.

Why doesn't my tax software match these numbers?

Generic crypto tax tools were built for spot ledgers. On Hyperliquid they commonly drop funding payments entirely, mishandle signed fees (a positive fee is a rebate, not a cost), cap imports at a few thousand fills, and miss builder-dex markets altogether — which now carry over half of perp volume. Several of those failure modes are documented publicly. This check re-derives everything from raw venue data so you can see what your software missed.

Is Basisproof tax software?

No — and deliberately so. Basisproof is recomputation plus evidence: we verify what the venue's own numbers say, prove the reconciliation on two independent axes, and disclose every gap in writing. Classification, jurisdiction rules and filing decisions stay with you and your tax professional. The paid report (2027 filing season) adds cost basis, CEX transfer chains and a Form 8949-ready export.
